    aftermarket deck in 03+

    Hey hey

So i'm really thinking about tossing out the stock stereo in my 2005 rolla and put in something that accepts usb pen drives sd cards and plays mp3's basically something from sony or blaupunkt, but question is how did you who did that got around the problem of having a hole twice as big as the new stereo\? stock stereo is huge and it will need some sort of a panel to fit an aftermarket one, pics would be helpful.

U could go for a double din Headunit .. or use a single din headunit with a kit. How much are u willing to spend on the Headunit .. Sony and blaupunkt are not really quality brands. If i were you i would either go with Alpine, Pioneer, JVC, Eclipse, or some other type of units.

As for head units I hear bad things about Sony when it comes to car audio.. most people will tell you Sony Xplode are crap.

I just got a new head unit with USB input myself. Mines is a Kenwood excelon, the menu is pretty easy to use but I am till learning all the features. I already have half my MP3 collection on a 4gig USB flash drive + I love how I can just add a new song to my playlist without burning a new CD every time. great stuff, I will never go back to just a regular CD player.

Well I like Sony and Blaupunkt, and I'm not any audiophile I just want MP3 support and maybesomething cooler looking. Before I had a Blaupunkt and after that I had Lanzar, couldn't really complain in any way. I also wonder how to solve the 6 speaker issue, because 2005 rolla have 6 speakers will I need to split the front audio out or are they already connected?

Actually right now i'm looking at this baby, it has an appeal not to mention it uses only memory cards mmc and sd which are dirt cheap right now.

You should really invest in an iPod. Integrated head units really make it a lot easier.

I saw a sony with a standard USB port, which also makes for a good idea cause normally due to my work I carry anywhere for 2 to 5 usb pen drives, wouldn't hurt putting some mp3's on them :)
