    After Market Head Light Bulb

    I have an 04 corolla 's' actually and i want to put in some after market lights. I wana go with 80 w lows and 100 w highs. I know they are illegal in CA but whatever. I wanted to know if any of you had upgraded your headlights and what wattage so i can see if the wireing harness will support that high of a wattage. I don't want to have to upgrade that stuff.

    Thanks

    Joe

    lol since when were halogen bulbs illegal? i say stick with the stock wattage and go with Sylvania Silverstars as they're the best halogens out there imo and dont waste money on high beams..unless u plan to use them alot

    hawaii has weird laws on upgrading headlight bulbs.. bulbs cannot have any blue at all..cannot shine blue, cannot be blue (even if it shines white) or anything like that. theres more..but i cant recall at the moment.

    for best lighting:
    get two HIR1(9011) bulbs and mod them using the same method to mod 9005 -> 9006 bulbs
    and then you will have 2700 lumen output in lows!!!
    9006 is only like 1500 lumens.. i think
    only set back is they are like 40 each.

    www.candlepower.ca has them

    9005 = 1700 lumen
    9006 = 1000 lumen

    Your biggest bang-for-the-buck would be to modify a 9005 bulb to fit a 9006 socket. That's what I've been doing since the days of my (BMW) E34 and E36's
