Back in the days before thugs and guns, I used to carry an aluminum baseball bat (with a glove in tow)... today since there are so many psychos (road rage and others), I just try to avoid conflict... I do have a meat tenderizer (restaurant grade/sized) in case I were to get car-jacked... I figure it does a nice job in breaking up the tough muscle fibers of beef, pork and chicken... why wouldn't it have the same brutal effect on a person?

Perhaps, pepper spray or mace would be a better weapon, but you have to give me points for creativity!

I keep an extra strut bar in my trunk just in case...

The crowd of people hanging out at our spots has been slowly increasing lately, and fights and such have started breaking out.

And now, another F and F movie to catalyze the increase...

nothing yet, havent had the need for it. i have had friend who have had their cars jacked but a gun point so i see no point to it. besides a stick shift isn't for everone that is one reason why theft rate on them is low as well....

i've always carried a really small aluminum baseball bat (like something a 5 year old would use to learn how to play ball)...its small enough that i could always put it under my driver's seat...fortunately, i've never been in a situation/area where it was needed...anyway if some guy pulls a gun or knife, a bat isn't going to do much good; save your life, let your insurance company worry about the stolen car.

cops will confiscate a small bat unless you can convince them you're going to a midget baseball tourney. Can't see them getting upset about the Club, since it really does have a legit purpose. i carry something a tad more significant sometimes. saw that story on the news a while back where some woman's car was car-jacked with her kid in the back, scared the hell out of me, so i went and got licensed. thank God i've never had to show it.

If you were to get pulled over by the cops, would you get into any trouble for having it even though you're licensed?

No, I was just wondering, I've always wanted to know. I really don't know much about the laws that apply to that sort of thing... I guess I just always had the idea that you could only have it in your home and that's it.

You apply for a "Concealed FIrearm Permit". They do a criminal background check, and I believe (but I'm not sure) now you also need to take a training class. You have to justify why you need to carry.

I am very nervous with it in the car. If I cross the state line into Mass, I go to jail. Period. If (when) you get pulled over, you roll the window down, put your hands on top of the steering wheel, inform the cop you have a firearm in the car, and you give him the permit along with your license and registration.

As I said I rarely carry it at all, unless I am going target shooting somewhere. Even then I will have it in a bag, zipped closed, and in plain sight on the back seat, where I can't get to it without a lot of squriming. I see no reason to take a chance worrying a cop.
