    acura integra engine light

my friend has a 91 integra and recently received a check engine light. He was tryin to do a u-turn but instead, ended up in a ditch full of water. the passengerside of the car was pretty deep in water (where is airbox is).

I test drove his car, and the thing re-set the rev-limiter to 3k instead of the 6-7k its usaully at. No water was sucked into the intake. I took his car to autozone but they didnt have tha adapter for it.

i told him to disconnect his negative terminal for 15 mins and try the car again. Welll.... he did it and the car works fine again.

Does anyone know what the proble could have been? Im kinda stumped by this one

could be the 02 sensor that shorted out in the water.
