    98 turbo set up

Hey guys, im new here to vvt-i although i was refered here by jtweezy from vvti.net. anyway im looking to do a turbo set up on my 98 prizm here in the next few months and im looking for any helpfull info on it. This will be my first non na car and im excited but i wanna make sure i do everything right. First off i know there are a few kits running around out there like the stafford which i guess isnt really running around anymore, and then theres the infamous turbokits.com kit from spi which has fitment issues (which i believe they are trying to fix because they stopped selling the kit and are in research and development for a stage 2 kit). I know i need an upgraded fuel system and an engine management of some sort be it an emanage or an safc, but a few questions i have are:

How easy is it to tune an emanage or safc? Because when it comes to the computer side of cars i know nothing and i live in oklahoma and there airnt many capable shops around here that i would trust all that well.

What exactly does a boost controller do? do i have to have one? if not is it something i should still look into? Whats the difference between the manual ones that look kinda like a small BOV and the electronic ones from blitz, hks, apex-i, and greddy?

And another turbo question that might seem kinda stupid but ive seen 2 boost guages around, ones that go from around 0-35psi and then some that display a pressure and a vac (im refering to the faze guages by the way).

Thanks for the help guys. Any other suggestions you might have will be appreciated as well. This is my first tuner car and im trying to take it all the way. I can finally stick it to those people who look at me crazy when i say i drive a prism. Im hoping to have the first turbo'd prism around, because as far as i know no one has put a turbo on one.
(ps for anyone who doesnt know the 1zz-fe in my prism is exactly the same as the rolla one and so is the engine bay and everything so anything that applies to the 98 rolla will apply to the prism)
    thanks again
