the last one looks like it would. looks like a true 4-1 header. the rest look too restrictive. i would buy the last one and fabricate a 2.5" or 2.25" pipe to fit the collector with a high-flow cat. with emanage should give you around 140 atw = approx 160 hp engine

these wont give you low end. in fact you may loose a little but you will gain top end and higher rpms.

Low-End power is always going to be hard to gain.
Sadly, this is due to the fact that you do only have a 4-cylinder. Low RPM power is usually torque. And 4-cyls just don't have that much torque.

If you're looking for gains that'll make up for the lack of torque, FI is the way to go. :D

I've got 319 lbs of torque. But only 245 horsepower. I can romp on it...and it'll move ass up to about 50 mph. After 50, the horsepower takes over...and while it is still quick...it's not that fast. One of the reasons I'll end up going the turbo route myself in a couple years...it'll make up for my lack of top-end power.

go with the OBX Header cuz thats what I had on my corolla and I felt a good gain in high rpm's...Muffler, I wouldn't know what u should get...I had an ebay muffler an N1 muffler with a 4" tip and it was really loud. I had no cat and no resonator so thats why it was pretty loud. I liked that muffler c uz of the design but it was too loud tho. Just get a desent looking muffler kinda like the TRD one, and if u can, just get the TRD muffler!

Exhaust manifold still restrictive even after porting? Pretty hard to believe on a NA setup. The OEM exhaust manifold is pretty decent - not as good as a 4-1 setup - but for the cost (FREE vs a few hundred) - you would have the best cost ot power ratio with the OEM setup. I would try going with a decent catback setup or even just popping for a TRD muffler. Those have been shown to give some tangible gains.

If you are going to turbo next year - I'd save up the money otherwise spent on a header and extra piping and put it toward the turbo or even another car.

Spending $300+ on a header when you're going to be going turbo is a waste of money. Just put the money towards your turbo set-up(and spend a lot of time reading. newcelica.org has a great turbo FAQ).

Given some of the problems that you mentioned about your engine - that would be the first thing I would iron out :D

Also the Corolla takes suspension mods pretty well. You don't have to spend bankrolls of cash to get a decent handling Corolla - same goes for the brakes. Also a good time to get a good idea of what the baseline looks like - example would be a wideband O2 sensor and some sort of engine management. This way - you would learn a whole lot about what the engine is capable in stock form, fix any weaknesses in preparation for the turbo project - or tune the nuts off the car and extra the most from your current mods.

Anything that touches the engine directly (fuel, intake, exhaust) - I wouldn't spend any more money if I was to go forced induction. If your going to do it in stages - harder to say in that case. Then it would be what you feel like doing.

Just stick with the OEM ones for now. They actually can be driven to a much higher duty cycle (plenty of reserve) - and can keep up with almost anything short of a forced induction setup. At WOT, some people with wideband have seem them turn in an A/F ratio around 10:1 - mighty rich there. Can't just throw in any injectors - if you are running a N/A engine with large injectors without engine management - the car will run like $hit.

It all depends on how much power you're looking for when you go turbo. Decide how much power you want, then buy things based on that. If you're going to be on low boost(6-8lbs) then 330cc-440cc injectors and stock pump would be alright, if you want more boost, some 630cc injectors and a 255lph walbro fuel pump would be needed. Maybe a return line and fuel pressure regulator too.

Things can be bought/installed in stages... clutch/flywheel, fuel/tuning, etc. Just do as much reading as you can between now and when you start buying stuff. http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=199226
