98-02: How do I get to the shifter housing?

I recently bought a shift cable bushing kit and a shifter base bushing kit from http://speed-source.net.

The shift cable bushings were an easy install, I knocked that out in 20 minutes.

The shifter base bushing kit is what's about to kick my butt. I remember when I installed my TWM short shifter, it took me a couple hours and at one point I had my entire garage full of front console parts. I just forget what I have to remove. Do I have to start at the front door trim? Do I have to remove parts from both sides? Where the heck are the bolts and screws that I have to take out?

you have to take out the driver kick panel, glove box, center radio trim, and rear center console just to gt to the 'center console' in order to get to the shifter.. THANKS A LOT TOYOTA!

I took off the shift boot to get a look inside...I noticed that under the front bolts there seems to be a metal bushing already. Do the TWM short shifters come with metal bushings already? Did I install them when I installed the short shifter and then forget about them? crapt....
