    95 Prizm transplantable engines?

i would like to know what type of bigger engines could realisticly transplant into the 95 corolla/prizm. If there are any realistic transplants.

    3S-GTE -

Came in Celica All-Trac's and MR2 Turbo's. 2.0L Turbocharged and intercooled inline-4. A lot since you have to fabricate mounting points on your Corolla, expect the swap to cost around 10K (Rough estimate). You could get a front/rear clips from http://www.jarcoinc.com/ . You could match the MR2 Turbo (3S-GTE) tranny, Celica (5S-FE) tranny, or Camry V6 (1MZ-FE) tranny to this engine.

    3S-GE -

This engine came in the 4th Gen Celica's but with only 135HP. Higher horsepower version were made available in Japan but weren't brought over here. This engine came in the MR2's, Celica's, and later on in the Altezza's. As for swapping issues, it's the same as above with the 3S-GTE. The pricing might be different depending on what gen engine you get. The latest gen is the most expensive (Duh).

    1MZ-FE -

This 3.0L V6 came in the Camry's, Solara's, Avalon's, and Lexus ES300's. It's preferable you use the manual transmission it comes with but if not you could use the MR2 Turbo (3S-GTE) tranny or the Celica (5S-FE) tranny. The swapping cost should be around 10K as well.

what cars are those engines from, what are the specs of the engines, what sort of modifications are going to have to be made, and where can I find these engines, and how much am I looking at. Also do you know where I can find a matching transmission.

well actually it would be nice to transplant an engine that has alot of aftermarket performance parts like the toyota celica gts. the 4AGZE supercharged sounds exactly like what i am looking for. And by saying "a much straight forward swap", what exactly do you mean.

Well, as you know, the Prizm is basically an AE101 Corolla under the skin, and the 4AGZE came stock in the AE101 Toyota Levins (2 Door Corolla basically), so it was designed to fit in your engine bay, use your mounts, etc. Alot less custom fabrication to do to get it fit properly and function properly, only big problem might be the wiring harness (unless you get a half clip with an intact harness). Of course it'll be in your best intereste to do a full tuneup on the engine, replace all fluids, replace all belts, etc. before installing it (easier when engine is not in the car). You find a half-cut from a Levin for a decent price... for example, www.flashoptions.com has one for $1400 US plus shipping/tax. It a half-cut, engine, transmission, axles, ecu, harness, and other tidbits...

I know, its not $3000 :p I got a quote from a local speed shop for 2450$ (Canadian) plus tax for the full 4AGZE swap, convert the 94 corolla to a 5 spd. and other little bits (replace all belts, fluids on engine and put in a bigger fuel pump). Its for the 165hp version (AE92).

And yeah, you could get the engine for cheaper than 1400$ USD... just look and ask around in your area for companies that can get imported engines and transmissions...

I know it's not bigger (unless you add the displacement of the supercharger to the engine displacement, hehe), but I figured i'd let him know, since it is a valid alternative, and easier and cheaper than any 3S engine...

    Ummm... im done... hehe

You could also swap a 4AGZE (1.6 DOHC Supercharged), they make from 145 to 170hp depending on the year. It's the same engine family as the engine in your prizm right now, so it will be a much more straightforward swap, and it wont cost you 10 grand, more like 3 grand...
