93-97 Short Shifter. Anyone have one?

Hey, im looking to do a short shifter. Iv seen the ebay ones, that you pop your shifter out of the white box, and put that one in. Are there any made specificly for the 93-97 year corolla? Also, if you have one, which one you have, and where did you get it. Also, hows the difference in it?

    Thanks

well...i dunno bout that last one, but the first two, i'm sure are NOT shorter than the stock ones.

i got one offa ebay a while back. being that it was only $10, i figured, what the heck...not only was it NOT short, it didn't even fit into my shifter bracket.

keep in mind that there are four different styles of shifters for the 93-97 Rollas. 93-95 and 96-97. i've heard, but haven't tried out yet, that the B & M short shifter for 98-02 rollas will work with the 93-97s, and that the TRD Short shifter for 98-02 will also work.

you could prolly sell the cheap ebay one on here, tho....:p

i had the exact same experience. i bought one off ebay and it didn't fit. it looked exactly like the stock one except it looked like they had dipped it in chrome or something and it was now a little bigger then a stock one, so nothing fit.....

Yea I had one from Ebay and I didn't like it, so I sold it. I'll probably get a twm one at some point in the future. I'm learning that you really get what you pay for.

So other than rumored B&M and TRD for 98-02 to possibly fit into a 93-97, there are none made by a company that are good?

there is also one supposedly made by OBX www.obxracingsports.com but i've been waiting for a while to see that one. the dude i'm in touch with actually had two of em that he sold on ebay, but i didn't have the money at the time. they are considerably less ($59 MSRP) than the TWM or B & M.

if you do want to try one out, and you have the $$, i'd suggest going to www.twmperformance.com and emailing them your situation. ask them about the shifter they have...i think they labeled it 97-01 when i was last on that site, and they told me that if it didn't work, they'd give me a full refund.
