    9006 -> 9005 Conversion an.d PROJECTOR HID HEADLAMPS!!!

Hey-im not new to forums but new to this one.
Love this design...ive noticed alot of people are not educated on the HID and lighting area.
HID kits arent the best light option....allthought they are brighter then stock..
The Best way to get HID is using OEM HID from a real bmw, lexus, or s2000.
    HOW? you ask...
Its called an HID retro FIT..
I did one on a Honda Civic...
Took OEM HID PROJECTORS from a bmw X5 and retrofitted them into an aftermarket headlamps set for the civic...

    here are pics: CLICK HIDRETRO

    The possibilities are endless...

Here is a freind of mines page.... he does retrofits for people...
Its not cheap.... 500+ but why spend so much on it?
with HID KITs you get tons of glare and no where near the amount of light on the ground.

Now for the 9005- 9006 conversion...

I got a set of High beam HID bulbs. I am going to see if I can make it fit today. I had wanted to try before but never found the time. As long as you can match the light filimint to be where the other one is it should work just fine.

ebay has tons of options of getting your hands on hid parts...
the civic i did i got two x5 headlamps with d2s oem hid capsules for 120 and a pair of hid ballasts for 100... so for 220 i got an hid system better then a hid kit...

    now, i was lucky...
most hid ballasts are good if you can get them for 200 a pair.. (ebay)
then hid projectors pair will be around 100-150...
the best HID OEM projecotors are the Honda S2000 those can go easy 300+ a pair...
    the X5 projecotors are good...
    Audis are ok...
theres more on the sites listed above... :D

hey stinky... where did you get the high beam hid bulbs...most oem cars dont have high beam hid bulbs... b/c of the light startup process with hid ... compared to the instant on with halogen.... let me know :D thanks

I've got a pair of E46 projectors I would like to install in my '03. How would I go about doing it?

Currently, I installed the bulbs 'n ballasts in the halogen housing and aimed really low. Haven't been flashed yet, but prefer the look and increased ground lighting of the projectors. Do you possibly have a step-by-step guide I could use, including what size screws and other parts I would need?

    Thanks for your help!

yes the prokectors are the best source of light output thus far...
i havent seen a 2003 hid projector retro fit, i plain on doing the first one to my car. :D
maybe if you get started youll be the first 2003 for OEM HID projectors...

the best way to doing sothing like this is to look and see what others have done...
accords, eclipses, jeeps, various other vehicles...
ive done research for about a year or two now on just the oem retro process.
i have a freind that can do it for you... not sure how much he will charge...
Here is his website ( http://home.earthlink.net/~pliepl/page5.html ) he had done alot of hid retro fits...
if you want to do it yourself check these websites out :D
( www.hidforum.com ) ask questions about HID and HID retro fits... get help with OEM hid retrofits

( http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/headlamp-faq.htm ) The best FAQ guide to hids, hid kits, oem hid retro fits, halogen bulbs, whats the brightest oem hid projector? (s2000), and varios other things... I actually printed out everything and read the wholle faq guide... it has tons of information.!!

I meant to say I have the HID style 9005 bulbs. I was just waiting for the set I have in my car now to burn out, but they seem to be taking forever. My low beams burnt out though so I am in the process of filing the groves down as I write this.
