8th gen ksport solution for the rear and some extra goodies!

    S: spring
1: height adjuster threads up to the spring
2: height adjuster lock threads up to 1
3: locks B from wiggling threads down
    D: 5mm allen screw to tighten A
E: old sway bar link: same height and size as F. just held closer to camera
    F: new sway bar link
    The problem:
If 2 is threaded down to A, #1 can rattle during driving and slowly thread downward. If 3 is threaded up to A, part B will wiggle and rattle during driving. The result, too much rattling, wiggling just to prevent A from moving around. You can tighten part D as much as possible, but it will still move... trust me.

Remove the rear seats if you have a CE corolla. The bottoms snap right off. The backs are held in by three bolts next to the seat belt buckles. Once removed, slide up and remove them from between the seatbelts.
    --------------------

Remove the 2 bolts. support the brake with a jack, jack stand or blocks.
    -------------------

unscrew the tops of the strut. I told you to remove the seats if you have a CE model.

the EXTRA GOODIES!!! I got a NEW springs for the rear. I went from 25cm/5kg to 18cm/9kg. I might as well stiffen the rears since I'm taking the whole thing apart.

start removing the parts. one by one...
    --------------------

here's the part-by-part. Now that everything has been threaded off, it may be a good idea to wipe down the threaded area of the strut. i said THREADED aread of the strut. Try your best to remove and brush out the dirt and debris. A clean threaded strut shaft makes it easier to spin all the components back together.
    --------------------

    part-by-part with 25cm spring/5kg rate
    --------------------

here's the part-by-part with the 18cm spring/9kg rate AND the new collar which will prevent the sway link assembly from sliding up over dips, bumps, and driveways.
    --------------------

    This is the finished product!
    S: spring
1: threads up to S and controls the height
2: threads up to 1 and locks 1 from sliding downward
3: threads down to A and prevents A from sliding UP when driving over a dip, bump, or driveway
4: threads down to B to prevent B from wiggling.
P: is optional. This all depends on how many times you threaded part B onto part T. I threaded part B 74 times onto part T.

Depending on how much you want to lower your car from threading part B, you may need to insert part P to prevent A from sliding DOWN. I already knew I didn't need part P, but I put it in if you thread part B less than 70 times onto part T.

I personally don't suggest you lower your car with part 1 and 2 more than 2 inches. Although your car may still be able to roll or possibly not rub at all (if you're lucky), shock travel is minimized, and it isn't a good idea to fully compress the strut for it may blow.

    --------------------

    Now put everything back...

    ....
    .......

    .............

    --------------------

My ride is stiffer and tighter in the rear now that my sway bar link assembly doesn't zip and slide up and down. I can't wait to instert stiffer rates in the front. But that will be for another day.

Hmm... So K-Sport is like a universal full coilovers huh. They just mix and match components for different applications.

So you're ride is stiffer than stiff huh. Nice! I call next after DrunkSaru on the next meet, I also am curious how it rides.

Nice one Jon! Kudos to you.

ksport makes 14cm spring height with 18kg rate.

i asked the tech assistant on the phone, "what the hell kind of car would use such an application?"

tech: luxury cars, drag and drift cars.
