    6.5 components vs. 6.5" speakers

are the extra components (crossovers and tweeters) worth the extra money?

Re: 6.5 components vs. 6.5" speakers

I think the components are setup so that they focus on producing high frequencies. For coaxials, they provide a large range of frequencies. It depends what type of sound system setup you're looking for. I might be wrong about the info above, but I'm pretty sure about it. Good luck with the speakers.

ill tell u wut i currently have and maybe u could tell me wut i could do about door speakers. 50x4 head unit, 2 12" rf subs, 1200watt amp, pioneer 6963 3-way rear 6x9s. also getting a capacitor soon. I still have much more bass then highs so would i be alrhgth with just 6.5"s or should i go with components?

If you said the speakers cant hang with the sub than yes a nice set of comps will do it. Get something good like focal, CDT, or Diamond Audio.

I hate to say thing because I know you just bought your 6x9 but if you take it out it might just sound better. If you dont beleive me, once you get your comps in the front fade the speaker to the front and let your front handle all your mids and high and let your sub handel the low bass.

Yes go with Components. I installed a set of Polk components Tweets,6 1/5s, & crossovers and they do not get blown away from my sub. Sound really nice and the tweets can make your ears bleed if you want them to :)

    A must in my opinion

Yes, to make a component sound it's best, run an amp to it. The power depends on what speaker it is

blah im having such confusion on how i am going to wire this because my headunit has 1 preout for an amp and its being used for hte amp that powers my subs. i cant get an adapter and get a signal from my 6x9s because my amp is going to be giving a signal to the 6x9s.

Do the current amp that you have right now have a RCA output? If it do than you can use that to connect to your other amp. Or get another amp for your sub that has an output, but you will lost some sq and your abilty to fad.

I notice that in the Rolla with someone in the passenger seat, the front channel is "blocked" by peoples legs and deaden the sound... with components the tweeters would be un interupted.

Also, Components are alot better than a normal 3 way speaker. It comes with a crossover to optimize each part of the speaker. The 3 way single speaker uses an internal crossover that is usually crap.

Go with the Components... you'll be happy. I have a set of JL Audio Components and love them
