Answers to common questions on Headers
    Question:
Who makes headers for the 5SFE?
    Answer:
    • Hotshot
    • Pacesetter
o Cody: Use the Celica 3SFE header. Questionable quality and undocumented performance gains. Relatively low cost.
    • hme performance

    Question:
What is the quality of the various header offerings?
    Answer:
    • QUOTE
qQFoB: Hotshot headers - the quality is not great.

There have been numerous leaks, cracks, flex pipes totally destroyed, O2 bung flying off during the time I had mine. Remember these headers are fragile to when abused.

    • QUOTE
TBeck2000: Hotshot header - The first batch was apparently made 10x's better than the other batches. I thought the quality couldn't have been any better. The ceramic coating was beautiful. The welds were nearly perfect. I guess the quality has fallen off since they made the first prototypes.

Pacesetter - They use to be synonymous with "junk", but it sounds like they have turned that around. The price is right and their design can't be very different from the HS design. I haven't seen one in person, so I can't tell you if the coatings and welds are nice or not.

    Question:
How much louder are headers going to be compared to the OEM Manifold (with without aftermarket exhaust)?
    Answer:
    • Headers are going to be loud any way that you go about it. I even added a cat. conv. to my exhaust and it was still very loud. The sound was a nice 4-cylinder sound. Not deep and low like a V-8 or anything, but it sounds just like it should. I also added cams and p&p'ed head at the same time, so I can't comment on the specific effect that the header had on performance.

That was taken directly from a thread in MR2OC.com which can be found here: http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=90

Check the Celica.net board or the MR2OC.com board. Theres a company named Hotshot that makes a header for our engines. I know theres others though.

For the price of those turbo kits and S/C, you'd be better off just swapping in a 3S-GTE.
