    5s-fe ECU on a 7a-fe

my friend has a 1990 Celica GT-S, and he is swapping in a 3sgte right now, he had the 5s-fe ECU that was in his car reporgramed with aftermarket chips, this is an awesome ECU,it was done buy ToySport and Rage...he wants to get rid of it because he no longer has a need for it, will it work on my 7afe? will it run my car alright? thanks for all your help, i am also putting in new accel injectors to be ready for my turbo...

it'll run if you wire it all up correctly..... but you'll be running rich, you'll need whatever map/afm sensors it has and also the injectors (and probably the fuel rail and FPR) with the connectors..... and also, you'll need to keep however many o2 sensors the 5s-fe uses.... also, i'm not sure, but in 94 i don't think toyota switched the TPS in the 4/7a-fe to a potontiometer style yet... so you'll have to see if the 5s-fe has a pot style or switch style... if you have a switch style and need a pot style, then it won't run quite correctly

i doubt all 7afe uses a pot style.... the 4afe didn't change until like 94/95/96.. somewhere in there.... before then was a switch style...... if it's rounded, it's pot, if it's squared it's a switch

If I can remember correctly, the 7AFE IS in fact pot style, it is true that the 4AFE is switch. The resaon for 7AFE switching to pot style is for the A245E 4spd ECT

The 5S-FE is MAP also. There is no heated wire MAF sensor on the 5S. My bro has a 93 Camry 5S-FE and I know his has the MAP sensor. The 7A-FE is also MAP.
