Transmission will only work with each other if the bell houses line up. as far as being the same i can't say for a fact. but more than likely yes.

sorry, but it's annoying as all get out when someone rolls up next to me and asks if it's a "real type s". i never know what to say...but i always want to choke them.

uh, there's no difference mechanically speaking between an S and a CE or LE. the transmissions, however, are different between 2001 and 1995. it's not a simple drop-in as far as i know.

and for the love of god, it's not a Honda...it's an S, not a type S or S type.

haha...good idea, but i don't keep a backstock of burritos in my car. that would get horribly stinky.

maybe i should make more people cry...hehehe.

What are you looking for in the tranny? closer gear ratios? What u got in there C50 or C52?

i can't say this for certain - though im positive they are different transmissions, I doubt the gear ratios are much closer in the newer one. maybe, but if they are, it's probably a miniscule amount. You want close gear ratios? get a 6-spd from the gt-s or xrs. but good luck making it fit a 95 dx lol impossible,

If you looking for closer ratios... i think the C52 out of an imported 4A-GE Silvertop will bolt straight on... they use the same clutch, pressure plate and thrust bearings, so i dont see any reason why the C52 wont bolt straight on (that is assuming you have the C50)

*edit* Either that... or you can TRY to find a 6-speed off of an import AE101.. but when you do, let me know coz i looked for 6 months.. no-one anywhere in Australia or NZ had one, or had just got rid of one... they have even closer ratios than the C52

If you have a DX 5-speed, you have a C52, with the taller overall gearing (same ratio spread as a 4A-GE C52, just with a taller final drive). American C52s have taller final drive ratios than those in other parts of the world....

The '98-'02 5-speeds use C58s, which have approximately the same ratio spread as the C52, but even TALLER gearing. Why would you want even taller gearing, thus making your car slower? Of course, fuel economy would likely improve....
