    4ag into zze110?????

Ok, I know this may sound very stoopid, but hear me out.
If i remember correctly (probly not), there is a model corolla out (in another country) that has either a 4age option or a 1zzfe option? If that is the case, wouldnt the motor mounts line up to swap a 4age into the same style engine bay as the 1zzfe is in? Like i said, I really dont remember correctly. I really am not even sure of any of this. Im just thinking out of my ass.
But IF it were true, it should work to where a 4age would drop into a zze110 chassis. I doubt im right. Anyone else done any kind of research on this?? I have been looking for engine stuff, (i know MWR.com, et al) But i find SOOOO much stuff for the 4age much more than the 1zz. Ive heard its a very strong block too. If this would work, it would rock. I know that the engine facing is different, ive already thought of it. Most everything (exhaust mainly) would have to be custom. But wouldnt it be sweet to see a 4age in a zze1110?

Anyone have any input? Besides how stoopid this sounds?

yes, the 4ag blocks are strong.... they're cast iron...... i doubt the mounts are the same, as the ZZ engines are flipped around......

yeah - what toyotaspeed90 said. ZZ series are in at the front and out at the back. Until the ZZ series, most of Toyota's engines were and still are opposite that. That constitutes a MAJOR plumbing issue there.

Think: how are you going to drop an engine in backwards? Even IF you could get the intake/exhaust issue settled, the engine would still be rotating in the wrong direction, you'd have the flywheel and crank pulley on the wrong ends. Unless you completely designed a head for the engine to reverse the intake/exhaust ports, then I'd say it's a no-go.

Wasnt the last version of the 4AGE 20V available in the 98+ in Europe/Japan for a few years?

eh that's dumb. of course you could do it, but it would be stupid and a waste of time, money, and effort. it's like swapping out turbine engines on a jet with propellers (sp) to see what would happen.

is not dumb, the guy just wanted to know if it was possible, and it is possible with enough money, but not practical...

Dropping a 4a motor into the zze110 chassis isn't as hard as people think. The main obstacle would be to fabricate custom made mounts for the motor and tranny. Next would be a full custom wiring harness for the ecu and all sensors. Next would be custom axles. Now you would have to have custom piping from the header back.

See now is it that hard?

i think its possible to do it... "110" chassis can accomedate either 4A, 5A, 3S, and ZZ engine... in asia the 110 chassis uses A-series engine so thats y its code name is AE110, our US-Spec 110 chassis uses ZZ-series engine thats y its code name is ZZE110

to do the whole conversion engine need need change... but overall u need the same stuff u need to swap a 4AGE in to a 93-97 rolla

it should work. in europe somewhere, someone put a 3s-gte into a new model corolla hatch and its like the fastest corolla out there. like my friends say, "money talks".

thats what i thought...so in this chassis theory you would just need to do some custom exhaust work. and get a tranny that fits. among other small things like ecu, harness...etc...
