    4A Series Engine Mounts

Basically, looking for aftermarket 4A series engine mounts. Anybody have any recommendations on what to get, where to get them, and also, how well made/designed are the OEM mounts? (i'm replacing mine before swapping the engine anyways since it has over 330 000kms on them).

depends on what mount you're using on the chasis side....... the 4afe and 4age mounts are slightly different...... whatever mount you use, i would just reccomend taking to a local windshield shop and have them fill it

So just the OEM mounts? And if I get a set of 4AGE mounts, would they fit in the same location as the 4AFE...

the e51 is from an mr2, you'll need to modify the linkage to work with a FWD car..... you want an e52 or e58 from japan...... the rear mount is different, yes but can be made to work.... the E series transmissions don't use a lower mount......

The transmission mounts are for the C5X transmissions? The E51 uses different mounts right?

i know someone who has an LSD (ae101 FWD) E58 for sale... it's $400 plus shipping... it includes the slave cylinder..... the only "axles" that are with it are cut in half... you could probably just take those and your current axles in and say you need them put together (generally around $100 or so per axle to do this)

also, FYI for an E series transmission you need a flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate from a supercharged mr2 (88-89)..... no C series parts will work (spline is much larger on the E series transmission, and the E series flywheel is stepped, not flat)

should also mention this transmission comes with an ae101 TRD Japan transmission mount (complete), driver side..... the mount alone is roughly $100 when converted from yen, and probably nearly impossible to get in the US

this was the transmission that came off of my ae101 4agze... i did not want to deal with swapping the linkages across for the mr2 setup, so i bought an e51 and sold him my e58... he had an ae92 gts that he was going to do a large turbo build up, but he has since bought an ae86 gts and is doing a 13btt into it.... so he no longer needs the transmission

    i do have pictures

Well, my car is an automatic right now, and I plan on putting in a 4AGE Smallport and 5 speed manual... so I need the clutch/flywheel, etc.

So with the 4AGE Smallport, would the best choice be the E51?

no way.... not unless you plan to go big turbo power

best bet is a c52 from an ae92 gts......
