    4 speaker vs. 6 speakers

Hi, I just got a 2004 Corolla S. And It came optioned with the 4 speaker CD/FM/Cass. I know there's a 6 speaker option available. I was wondering if it's possible to install the tweeters in the doors to make it a 6 speaker system? I want a factory look to it, but will probably go with different speakers. Thanks...

I did this mod myself in my CE, and it came out nice! Sounds much better than the 4-speaker setup alone.

so I just have to buy the original factory speaker cover for the tweeters? How about the wiring the system to the stock unit? Is that fairly simple? Thanks for the link!

I just drilled a hole in my stock plastic piece. Then hot-glued the tweets in. I checked with Toyota, the stock parts are like 16 bucks each so if you ever had to switch back to stock it wouldn't cost much.

The stock tweaters.... along with the speakers.... but the tweaters are not that great at all...

You'd be better spending the money to just get some good 3 way or 4 way speakers. That's what I did and I love it.

No way. The stereo imaging is MUCH better with the tweets up high. Ankles wern't intended by nature to discern directional cues.

You wouldn't have to go with the stock tweeters. I used RF tweets.
