3 speed better for forced induction

Wouldn't a 3 speed auto be better for boost (turbo & Nitrous) because the long gears and higher RPM let you stay in boost longer? Reason I ask is because I have a 3 speed auto and I have the $ for boost but is now debating to boost the damn 3 speed or leave it alone.

The idea of having less gears and staying in each gear longer is not a bad idea... and it does have some merit to it... but the longer gears also means it will take longer for the turbo to spool up and the nitrous will have less of an effect on acceleration...

Like some drag cars run 3 and even 2 speed trannies... but they are making alot power than what we could ever dream of with Corolla's... I know that the gearing aint all that bad with the 3 speeds because I used to own a 94 with a 3 speed... from a dead stop it was awful... but once it was going, she could keep up with a few cars, which makes me think some sort of power adder might still work decently well...
