    2zz-ge swap!!1

is it possible to swap in a 2zz-ge engine and 6speed manual tranny into an 02 Corolla S??? im thinkin the engine should be an easy fit but the tranny would require more work since its an auto to manual swap. has this been done before???

yes it can be done, the price depends on the people and connections you know to do the job and get you the engine and other parts you need.

only 1 engine mounts fits from the 2zz, its the one on the PASS side near the ALT the others you got to do some cutting and welding.

if its auto you need the clutch pedal assembly, shifter assembly, master pump, ECU, engine with wiring, tranny, shifter cables.

and yes it has been done, even a few Toyota Echos around here already have done it. here in Puerto Rico dont know about there in the US.

the price can go from 1K to 10k. depends on who does it for you and where you get the parts.

i can do mine with less than 2K. but not in my plans till i finish paying for the car still got 20 more payments

i knew one kid who did it, but the 6-spd would NOT fit his 00 corolla. The celica tranny sat about 3 inches further to the right than where it should have fit in his corolla (celica is wider) - so he had to stick with his stock auto rolla tranny. which he then destroyed cuz he turbo'd and sprayed his 2zz - but it was fast as fuck... till he totalled it :(

    it fits just fine

1)Find a rolled Celica. in my case. I founded one that rolled in japan lol, yes my motor is the J-spec version so its 195 hp instead of 180hp

    2)take the stock 1zz out

I think Peter has like $50,000 invested in his project, with sponsor support. Its a hell of an accomplishment, but far from an everyday thing. It'd be more cost effective to trade in what you have now for an 05 Corolla XRS.

Sorry to be podantic, but you only get 195hp out of the engine if you are running 100RON fuel. The only dif. between JDM and USDM (or AUDM in my case) is that the USDM engines are downtuned to run on 92-97RON fuel. So the only way you are ever going to get the full 195hp is to run on avgas. Or get some octane boost in your fuel every tank. Works for me - stopped my knocking
