magnaflow and borla are both excellent companies for exhaust replacement. some other popular companies are flowmaster, and thermal r&d. i think there is a trd exhaust out, i'm not sure. but if you get any one of the aforementioned companies you'll be well off with a deep sounding exhaust, since thats all you're going for. most muffler shops can weld the muffler in the position you want.

what you can do, is buy a magnaflow or borla or flowmaster, or something without a tip, or even buy a tipped one, take it somewhere and be like "i want the body of the muffler here, cut the tip, bend and weld an extension pipe so the tip comes out here."
    have fun

    2003 Corolla S exhaust......

Since my first post left me with little or no information, I am reposting with the same query. I need to know what muffler I can make work with my 03 Corolla 'S'. All the cars I have owned, this is the worst for trying to figure out a muffler for. It has the angled ferring in the back which I assume makes it difficult to mount. I don't mind the muffler being hidden with a tip coming down and out, but I am not going to cut into the ferring with a dremmel. Can anyone point me in the direction of a muffler (make and model preferred) or another forum or website where I can get this information? I would prefer a 'throatier' sounds rather than a racy buzz and so far have heard two names, magnaflow and borla. Any thoughts on these.

Thanks for the help so far. The two tips I saw were not my cup o' tea, but it looks like I will be able take the magnaflow that I do like and lop the tips off and have them custom fit. I am thinking about trying to get the tips to come out the middle, but we will see... keep the info coming.

TRD and Borla's exhausts for the 03/04 are supposed to fit under the fairing without a cutout. I'll find some pix and put them up. As for the tone, both of the aforementioned are advertised as having that "throaty" deep tone you're looking for.

Here are pix of two different cars, both 2K3Corolla posters, who have the TRD exhaust installed on a Corolla S. As you can see, there's about an inch or so of clearance between the tip and the bumper fairing.
