Can anyone tell me if there is an alternate oil for the TRD supercharger on my 2002 Tundra, 4.7, V8? What the oil vescocity is (0W-20)? and if Mobile1 1 or AMSOIL 0W-20 would be 100% OK to use? And last, how often do you change it? I've been told 5K, 10K, 60K, & 100K miles.

amsoil 5w-20 or whatever would be fine and you HAVE to change your oil at 5k. specially if you run it hard. i wouldnt change it any later no matter what anyone says. that way you can guarantee the life of your motor to be 250,000 miles plus.

He's wondering about the supercharger, not the motor.

How long you had it supercharged? I heard they had problems with the supercharger and pulled it because it was blowing shit up.

3 years, 4o,ooo miles. What I could find out about the problem was people wre changing the boost going from the aprox. 6 to above 12. Also, there is a WARNING in the insta instructions about NOT using cool air intake systems. I removed my cool air intake and I also have duel exhaust. I do not drag the blvd but I do not let the show and tell trucks get away with anything or those noisy little gnat cars!

I'd think if were people were jacking boost too high, it wouldn't cause trd to pull the supercharger from markets. But glad to hear you aren't having any problems. I'd like to do something like that to mine, but I'm afraid it's too far into it's life. I'd prefer not to supercharge a motor with 140k.
