2002 Corolla Radio Install DIY??? HELP!!!

hey guys, i need help. Do you guys know how to take out the cd player out of a 2002 toyota corolla le. The thing is that the cd player is on the top part and the controls are on the bottom, so where can i put the cd player?

Can i put it on the bottom portion and will the harness fit through there or will it have to fit on the top part? If i can fit the cd player in the bottom part, then what do i fill the top hole with?

Anyone have any DIY with pictures as to how to remove the cd player out of the 2002 corolla?

I AM GOING TO BE PUTTING MY PIONEER DEH-8MP IN PLACE OF IT!

And, also the covers just pop off from over the a/c controls and the radio controls and there are 4 screws behind it to take off the cd player and unplug and put my cd player in it?
Are you talking about the stock CD player, cause all you gonna do is pull the center trim piece off and then remove it and unplug it.

If your talking the stock radio, remove the trim piece around it, it snaps off easily, remove the 4 screw pull it out and umplug it.

cool. but the thing is that, my cd player where i insert the cd's are on top and the controls for the cd player are on the bottom. so where do i put the cd player? and what do i put for the top part above for the cd player. the cd player is located above the ac vents and the controls are located below the a/c controls

OMG>....dude this is so easy....but anyway..ok your stereo is on top...so take that fucker out and put your aftermarket there..... then just disconnect the stock cd player that is on the bottom...and you can leave it there or take it out...doesnt matter since it will not be working...case closed!!!...the end....now do it..

ok from the pics...I"m guessing somebody put them in wrong...because my stock corolla came with the stereo unit on top and the cd player on bottom..but still i'm pretty sure you could put your aftermarket CD player unit on top....

yea he should be able to put the radio on top, just make sure you pull the wires from the radio up to the new location. BTW who installed the radio/CD player that way.

Toyota. I actually want my cd player to be on the bottom. So, the harness connection will be on the bottom anyways? right?

cuz i want my aftermarket cd player hidden and i think that i am just going to leave the top one in there to make it look like i have a stock cd player.

To relocate the wiring harness to the top is a cinch, any shop can do it. I recommend the top only because looking at the cd player screen, and using hte controls might be a B----- if its on the bottom. The harness might be a pain to drag to the top though, but if you get the panels off, it shouldnt take more than an hour.

i actually like the cd player at the bottom because i can tilt the screen up to look at it also and i dont use the remote. I am used to putting my hand on the shifter and changing tracks anyways. i like it on the bottom.

I dont need any kind of KIT to put in the cd player? right? i willjust have to take the side brackets off the stocker and bolt it up on my cd player and screw it in, right? All i need is the harness.

Well then, just get an eclipse... part of their anti theft system is that you have to put in the first CD you ever played in it to get the deck to work... just a thought...

To my understanding, eclipse is suppose to be a step up as a whole from some of the more common brands like alpine, pioneer, sony, etc. I've never researched it myself, but I could look in to it for you... a friend of mines is a big 'ol car audio buff...

so far as the cd breaking... me thinks that you'd just be SOL... just don't break the cd!

my corolla came with the cd changer on the top as well. You can just pull the harness to the location at the bottom. It's kind of a squeeze but it can be done.

well, here is the new look and i love it. It looks flushed in, somewhat from far away. After a very long wait of waiting for my friend to let me borrow his crimper and plastic caps, i got around to setting my harness and putting the cd player in. It took about an hour max for me.
