    1zzfe Transmissions..

Hi everyone.. i am kind of new in this website but.. here i come with my question.

What manual transmission came with the 1zzfe in the corolla and the celica? "the c56???"

Whats the difference between them 2?? is it the final drive?? if so what's the ratio on them?

Thanks.. i just want to clarify a couple doubts in my mind.

Those are the ratio on top of my head...

    C56
    1st 3.166
    2nd 1.904
    3rd 1.392
    4th 1.031
    5th .815
    FD 4.312

    c59
    1st 3.166
    2nd 1.904
    3rd 1.310
    4th .889
    5th .725
    FD 3.722

As I'm telling you this is on top of my head but it's close enough for anyone of you guys. The c56 is way better in every way. Better construction, better gearing and better FD. The c59 is a little stronger than the old c52 but it's probably the worst tranny as far as the gearing goes that toyota came with. As far as fitting goes, the c56 from a zzt would fit the 1zz is a rolla as better as daddy fots mommy. For the axles, I'm not sure.

What i know for sure is that the zzt uses the same axles on the c56 and the c60 and I heard somewhere that the c60 axles don't fit the rolla blot-on (the need machining) although I wouldn't put any money on this, I have no first hand experience. This info comes from the guys who knows the guy who knows..... get the picture???

Do your homework on that one...

Does anyone knows if a Celica 2000-2005 6 speed manual transmission fit a 01 Corolla? Can a conversion be done? Also, I have a C56 transmission and I'm having a hard time finding a LSD that fits.

they're all manuals. Auto trannys has tranny codes like A245E.

Pretty much any LSD that fits a 5spd C series are cross compatable with other 5spd C series; C50, 52, 56.

    C59 with a FD of 3.941 instead of 3.722

If you analyse that, you will realize that the ratio difference match the change between 185/65/14 tire and 195/65/15, so both car rev exactly the same rpm at exactly the same speed and accelerate almost the same, save from a little more power comming out of the 9th gen.

The tranny is exactly the same between the 8th gen and the 9th, apart from the shift linkage bushing, which is the same until 2003 (first year of gen 9th) and hanges to a roller bushing from 2004 until now. And something to do with the synchros, but its getting late and my brain is about to shut down for a restart.... and I'm too lazy to go find out.

the c56 is from the last generation of celica, 2000-2006, it is also a 5 spd but is derived from the last gen of 4age powered levin, (ae111). As I wrote above, the trans will bolt right on the zze110 block but I'm unsure if your axles will fit, I didn't have the chance to try it on my rolla before it got stolen.

The c59 is the 5 spd from corolla 1998 till today. The ae101 (93-97) uses the c52 which shares the dising with the 4a series like the mr2 and trueno/levin. The c59 changed final gear ratio in 2003 from 3.722 to 3.941 since the car got a little heavier but more because toyota changed the wheels from 14" to 15". the 59 is sturdier than the c52, which has problem with the 2nd and 3rd gears but is less well stacked than the c56 from the celica, which has a FD of 4.312 and the 3rd 4th and 5th gear shorter (pulls more). no worry, the c56 will get you to 120 mph at the end of 5th gear where your stock c59 will pull you to close to 160 mph, only problem is the engine it is connected to.....
