    05 TRD Intake Problem

Okay, Just got my TRD intake today and installed it. Maybe I am just stupid, but I do not see VSV 2. I see the #1. And when it is all said and done, I am left with a crankcase breather that originally plugged into the elbow between the Throttle Body and the stock piping. Then I am left with the hose that I unplugged from VSV 1 so I could run the new hose from that to the vent on the intake. What am I supposed to do with these 2 hoses? I have no where to plug them into.

Did they change all this in 05?

03-04 intakes don't work with 05's without modification. I read that with the TRD one you can drill a hole in the boot and stick the tubes in, but I don't think it's a great solution

I had the same problem with my CAI.. that hose coming out from under the engine cover was left hanging and I didn't know where to put it. Only then did I call the manufacturer and they told me that they have not yet confirmed the fit of the CAI for the 05 corollas. It did change from 04-05. sucks! I even tried to plug it but it sounds weird and it rattles when you start it. so I took it out and returned it. oh well, looks like we just have to be patient and wait for the new models to fit the 05's.

Actually, it will work, just with modification. Dont worru about the VSV valves. All you have to worry about is the Crank breather. I installed the intake then marked on the elbow where the breather hose needs to be and cut a hole in the elbow. Put the breather hose in and used some black caulk to seal up around it, reinstalled the elbow on the intake and all is perfect.

Yeah I had to do some mods to my intake to so it fit too and it's running fine. I did pretty much the same as SazSquach. No problems with it so far after about 3k.

u can also just buy a seperate little breather filter for it. i had the same issue except my intake tube was waayyyy off from the throttle body too. i had an aem one tho. lol i posted same exact stuff month or so earlier lol. ur vsv tubes and what not are already plugged into the throttle body, thats why u dont need to worry about them. what i did was go to autozone and bought some little filter thing for the crank breather and stuck that on. but only to find taht the intake tube didnt fit. also the little nipple that sticks out on the tube for the vsv tubing i stuck an old tire valve cap on it and it covored it perfectly.
