04 type S high mount stop light

because it comes stock with a spoiler with brake light that blocks the stock brake light on LEs and CEs, i believe toyota didn't hook up or even include a bulb in the S rollaz... i tried to get access to it, and failed cuz i popped off the plastic guards in the top of the trunk that prevents me to getting to where you can change to bulb... so here's the question... how can i get to get that high mount to light up as well as the spoiler and brake lights? i know if i just make sure the 921 bulb is in, and the fuses are hooked up, it'll work right? also i could change the brake color of the high mount cuz the spoiler ones are already red, and my car is illegal as is... still no problems to date, so i could have a green stoplight... opinions anyone? but yeah, what can i do to get to the high mount on an S?

i dont think it uses a red bulb, i believe the plastic is red so the light that is emitted is red also. making it green would cause A LOT more attention than the blue signal and reverse bulbs, though both i believe are very illegal..do you drive around with your underbody neon on?

i'm not talking about that sort of plastic, i mean, that on my car, it seems toyota blocked off access to the high mount light on the type S... i was reading my manual on how to chnage that, and it's different... the blue turn signals are actually white lights, and the reverse is purple not blue... and undercars only go on in dark places, or when i feel i could outrun HPD... i sometimes drive with them on on H1, H2, and kam highway.... uber-rarely tho... and if i get caught, just say i came from a show and didn't realize they were on... even on the blue... just say, "oh, i didn't know," then come home and take them off cuz i finally got caught... but then again, i want to get caught, just once, to experince getting a ticket, so i'm usually doing like 85 on our 55z... once i did 78 on H2 on my way home, a cop in back of me had to go around me, he didn't have lights on or siren, i was laughing really hard... he passed me easily doing over 80... but in waikiki, those cops with skylines... i don't mess with... my neons are always off and i become a good boy... so yeah...

    *edit

oh, and a few days ago... i was in my friends T-bird, we stayed up all night at HawaiianBrians and we were on the way home, the light turned yellow, stupid Benz in front of us wanted to turn right, we were in the right lane, she turned, the light was red, we could have stopped, but we were too tired to think straight, so he ran a red light, in front of blaisdell arena, like all 8 lanes saw us, and there was HPD on the left, as we were going by, and the cop knew what we did, looked at us funny, and followed us for 30 seconds, then turned into a side street...

those blue lights, even if the light shining is white..is still illegal and is illegal for a very good reason (if you read forumshawaii). bout the 3rd brake light..ive never tried to get to it or anything..so i dunno bout that.
ps..h2 is probably the easiest place to speed and not even know your speeding..especially comin south from mililani going downhill past the autoplex..driving 85mph there feels really really slow.

Re: 04 type S high mount stop light

wiring has 2 ways to go and no way to hook up both, if you bypass and do hook up both you will blow the ballist for the LED spoiler lights and it cost $180

    dont do it

your right it is not a "ballast" it is a switch, kinda like a big relay, dont have the car or FSM books handy now, but if you look up the wiring diagram it shows it, either way the terminology is off (it was late) the point is you can not do it or you fry a $180 part....

I kinda have the opposite problem. I have a CE (which I've been slowly turning into an S) and just sent my spoiler off to get painted. Anyone know how to hook the spoiler light up and disable the high mount brake light?

Suggestions welcome. I definitely don't want to blow anything but there should be a way to do this right?
