03 Rolla sluggish??

03 Rolla sluggish??

Ok, I need some help. 03 Rolla 5 spd, stock all the way around.

This morning, the engine's performance was horrendous. It's symtpoms include:

1) Very low acceleration. I mean, maybe 1 mph increase per second.
2) When I try to accelerate, it will do the "bucking bronco" thing and i look like some moron that doesn't know how to drive a standard.. Kinda embarresing when the car next to you is laughing his arse off.
3) Engine idles lower, and inconsistent.

So those are the symptoms. Now, i went looking around for anything toyota that might have the same problems.. and came up with none..

Takin the car to the dealer tommorow to have it checked out.

Anyone ever come across this problem??

Could be a moisture problem - it was cold a rainy this morning. Did you leave it outside overnight?

this may sound like a dumb reply and dont think i'm trying to be negative towards you in any way but it sounds like u were in too high of gear, such as being in 3rd instead of 4th. were u sure u were in the right gear?

nooo its not that.. i know what u mean though. I mean even in 1st gear it would accelerate REALLY SLOW! I am not exaggerating when i say 1mph increase per second. I would mash my foot on the pedal in 1st gear and it would take like 20 seconds to reach 4000 rpm. THE POWER JUST ISNT THERE!!

I hope toyota can diagnose the problem when i take it in tommorow.

the idle thing sounds like what happened to my car when my MAF, o2 blew and the vsv's were not comming on at all. it happened early last summer. they had to replace all those along with my fuel injectors.

Not trying to hijack this thread but I have been looking for a service manual for the Corolla. Where did you get yours?
