I thinking of setting up a trap with an airbag.

That would be an expensive trap :)

I once seen a video clip of some dude trying to get someone out of a wrecked car and while he was leaning across the guys chest the airbag deployed and knocked him out cold and broke some ribs.

think about it they deploy with up to 300 mph depending on the vehicle usually its 250. and man do they hurt like hell. the time i crashed my 98 and i was in the passengers side i knocked out and broke the chair due to so much force.

Different forces are at work in that video than an airbag deploying in a car accident.

And check your local laws bulletproof....actually, I think its a federal law that its illegal to remove your airbags.
And if you dont notify your insurance company, they can drop you from coverage, and not pay out any compensation in the event of an accident.

There are people in this scene that have no clue, and are wondering WTF when they get a letter in the mail from their insurance company dropping them.

yup...no one especially the dealership would remove my airbag when i put a tv in its place...so i had to do it myself....when the insurance company looked at my car when i was starting my premium with them, they just advised me about it but said it wouldnt affect my insurance....at the time i was thinkin about putting another tv where the steering wheel air bag was but i thought 4 tvs were enough and 5 would just add on to the overkill...

here in texas they require that there be dual front airbags. If yoou remove them and get caught you have to pay a fine and have to get it re-installed in front of a state or federal judge other wise you may not get it back. plus you have to pay for the towing and other expenses.
