I'm planning to install a CAI in my car. My problem is the fender liner is all jacked up so if I do install the CAI the filter will be exposed. Will that post any problems?

    TIA!

Possibly - depends if you will be driving in rain or through a puddle or not. You could always run a bypass valve, just for safety - but any cotton gauze (dry or oiled) and foam filters (dry and oiled) will just get trashed by the water.

If you're determined to get it - then either fix the fender liner or find some other way to protect the filter. I wouldn't run it at all - if there was a chance that I'd get it water logged - bypass or not.

Hmm... I'll probably just replace the fender liner. Does any one have a DIY for that? I took a look at it and the whole thing covers the whole wheel well.

I have an itch to install the CAI already. Hahaha.
