    drove 02 camry today...

my uncle left his car at my house so me and my dad decided to try it out.... beside a timing belt that has to be replaced it drives pretty good.... It has ample power for acceleration. Its smooth and rather nice i was very suprised by the performance and ride of the car. It has 57k on it and is a XLE I4 model.
He's selling it and i think i might wanna replace my car with this one....
I'm burning oil and i dont want it to get worse so idk
If he gets his brakes and timing belt fixed i might consider it if i don't find anything else wrong with it

    edit:
insurance won't go up, gas mileage is pretty good on it and it beats spending like 16 or 17k on a civic or sometin, corolla is nice too but after all the tags and license and all that it comes out to like 17k Not worth it. Sad to say the new civic is better then the rolla at least for now

i actually wanted a 07 vw rabbit with the 5 speed manual and oem 16's or 17's but its like 18k.... but they are nice though
would nice and cheap on insurance
tC would be nice but high on insurance
new civic would be nice... but a civic is a civic... spending 17k on one is stupid especially non Si

If you can - stick with the Camry. It is very reliable compared to some others - as long as you stay ontop of the maintenance. That was also one of the model years included in the Toyota "Sludge" debacle a few years ago started by a few angry owners (I also own that model year and the last one from the previous generation of Camry - no problems at all - 112K miles and 185K miles, respectively).

Plus the 5SFE engine in the Camry is known to take a licking and keep ticking - S-series engines can be boosted with little problem (if you want to mess with it later :D).

I dont think 02 camry is using 5SFE. I think it's the same 2.4L that tC is used.
