    New projectors (93-97)

Does anyone have THESE installed on their car?

I'm looking into them and had some concerns... First, what's the light output like? Is it better than the stock headlights or the new "JDM crystal" ones? DO you have any pictures of them on your car? What's your overall impression of them?

Thanks for any help! I'm looking to get these with my tax refund...

quite a few people have had them, and complain about light output not being up to their expectations. one girl had them and got rid of them shortly after because she couldn't see.

I have them.....and i can just say that light output is MUCH better than everything ive gone through mainly because youre not using the stock bulbs....when you buy these it will come with an H3 conversion (fog light bulbs) so of course they will be bright....its just a matter of adjusting them...

This is a perfect example......this is a picture of my friend FastRolla96 and his headlights with the stock 9005 bulbs..

Now here is FastRolla96 (left, blue) and my car side by side.....you can easily see the difference....sorry bout my headlight being so yellow...they were the bulbs that came with it n i took the pic the day i got these installed...

The halos are much brighter that you may expect.....people thought oh, well since theres two bulbs behind the halo, then the halo isnt gonna be as bright or it isnt gonna be as round or "haloish"....they are actually pretty bright and you can distinguish the halo very easily...heres a pic of the halos...(the halos are brighter when you change out the weak yellow bulbs that come with the headlight to some bluish white ones)(second pic would be just as bright as the first but the sunlight behind the pic n the parking lot lights make it look slightly dim)

    I love these headlights...

Did i mention they change colors (like the bmws do)

....and the brights are freakin bright....everytime i took this picture it blurred everything....

anymore questions or needin anymore pics, just ask....btw, theyre even bright during the day too...check out my sig...

well maybe they just needed to adjust the headlights because since they're projectors, they make like this line (which is where the color changing effect happens) and everything below that line is where all the light is being projected but everything above it, theres no light at all......so unlike normal headlights which sends light in every direction, these just keep it below the line so adjustments are key to how well they perform....heres the line im talkin bout...(they're a pain to adjust)

.....and of course getting Nokya Arctic White Stage II 100w headlights is always a plus, hehe.....ill buy nothing else except for Nokya bulbs!

Turismo, thanks for posting. I searched for your pics but couldn't find them for some reason. Do the projectors require the switch to H3? How long did it take you to adjust the lights properly?

The projectors come with an H3 harness and bulbs already. Its a plug and play install. Doesn't take that long to adjust, but he took a while for his cause his frame is kinda bent from an accident.

I've been wanting to get these aswell, but I don't know if cops would hassle me for having projectors on a car that shouldn't have any here in S.Cali.

cops don't care about projectors on cars as it's not against the law to put them on. They're more concerned with people putting HIDs in their stock headlights and blinding people. So, you should be fine with the projectors, you'll be fine as long at you aim them properly.

That brings up an interesting question. How would these projectors do with some HID lighting?

Yea FastRolla96 is right, low beams are 9006 for a stock corolla, i keept forgetting because i dont have to use 9006 anymore......I use H3......and yes they come with the H3 harness and its basically a plug n play....very very very simple.....I think HIDs would look pretty cool n work quite well with these but of course, you could already be satisfied with the H3s that come with it, but once again, i recommend u buy bluish bulbs for it and throw away the ones that come with the headlight cuz those are too yellow......as for projectors n hids being legal in cali, i personally dont live in cali but i do kno some of their guidelines....I wouldnt recommend HIDs if its for cali cuz you most likely will get harassed by cops quite a bit......and if you do get these projectors, you better spend alot of time adjusting them correctly.....Ive had mine since mid January and its almost March already and im still finding myself adjusting them at least 3-4 times a week just cuz i keep thinkin theyre too high or too low but i think i have it perfect now.....another reason for adjusting projectors is because you will be using H3 bulbs.....let me remind you that these are those color changing bulbs that you see on cars like a bmw or even GMC Denali's come with these too.....plus H3 bulbs are usually used as high beams......so put the color changing and usual high beam aspect together, and a cop may think you have HIDs, and once again youll get harassed so adjusting is key.....

hope this helps and sorry for writing so long...

I just ordered the lights w00t :D and before they get here I'd like to plan out how to wire them up...

How did you wire them up? I would like to hook them up so that the halos are on a switch that is independant of the parking lights but only active with the ACC on. Does anyone know for sure how I would go about doing that? Tap them into the ignition?

    Thanks for any help.
