What would be the best exhaust option to boost my car? cat back, exhaust...?

Are you looking for an exhaust FOR boost, ie a turbo? Or are you looking for an exhaust alone that will give you more hp?

For a near stock engine, a 2.25" catback will give you a couple hp. What year is your car?

2004 engine on a 2001 body. my engine "blew" so i have a 40,000 mile 2004 corolla engine. im looking for more hp...
and how much of a difference would it be, plus a short ram intake

VERY noticable gains when i had 2.25" done for my 94 1.8, all the way from the cat converter through my fart can, although the shop that i went to crush bent my pipes, blaghhh, always go for mendrel bend, if they cant do it, go somewhere else!

do you have emissions in your part of florida?

if not you should delete the cat and get a full exhaust from the manifold back.
