    Tranny Flush

I heard that in some instances, you dont need to regularly go get a tranmission flushed. How so? Even if you get your tranmission fluid changed, arent you really only changing about 25% of the fluid leaving 75% of the old fluid in there? I heard that regularly serviced cars have gone to 100,000 miles without needing a tranny flush as long as it has been properly maintained....so what can you do to properly maintain a transmission other than drive 25 mph everywhere?? and is that flushing thing true too??

Im only curious because since ive had my car, ive added +30k miles and have yet to do anything to the tranny....not a fluid change or anything...but the tranny isnt sticking and the condition/color of the tranny fluid has not changed either..

I think the manual says to change the fluid at 70K? or somewhere around there. I'll probably do it then by swapping some fresh stuff in, swish it around, dump, then fill with synthetic. :D

you're talking about ATF right? Well it is true changing it without flushing accomplish very little. When I drop that slush box of mines I drained the fluid first, but once I disconnected it from the engine another liter or so came rushing out from the torque converter. I did a toyota service dept. flush at 70K but at 107 it was really black already.

I thought every 30k miles or 24 month was the recommended service schedule :D

^I browsed through other forums n they were like sayin that pretty much if u do a tranny flush, you should have the money ready just in case to fix any problems tranny associated as well...
