Microcenter sent me an email saying they're opening at 6am on Friday and they have laptops starting at 199.00.

There's only one MicroCenter in the DC area and its in Fairfax on the corner of Nutley and Lee Hwy. www.microcenter.com. I rather go to them before I go to CompUSA, Staples, Best Buy, etc. I purchased my PC thats from PowerSpec from there for 400.00. This computer is not brand name and therefore, I am able to use generic parts if something were to happen to it. Other spots wanted at least 800-900.00 for a brand name computer and most times, you have to buy from the company itself because generic parts will not work on the computer. COMPAQ and Gateway are one of them. Since I've dealt with both of them. Not sure about DELL.

some of the non-doorbuster items @ bb can be brought online (+shipping though, no pickup).. but I'm still going to the store because i'm too cheap to pay for shipping and I'm trying to get my hand on the toshiba lappy also. not sure when i should leave though.

Just got home from the pandemonium. Looked like there were 500 people waiting in line @ 5AM. There were these two guys entertaining the crowd, keeping everyone awake. And I got to see firsthand our tax dollars at work. Cop playing p0rn on his laptop in his car.

    Here's what I got:
    19' LCD Monitor - $130
    250GB HD - $60
    ATI Graphics card - $100
    DVD Burner - $30

i managed a 19" widescreen LCD.. there were tons of them, could've just walked in after the crowd and got one. But wasn't able to get the toshiba lappy. Turns out some of my friends who went before me at 6pm in the evening were ~30th in line and got the last of that voucher.
