    Dip-stick from hell

    alright....
I've owned a tercel, check my mother's Buick Century, her current 94 corolla, 86 corolla SR5, aunt's yaris, friend's Integra RS and another ones GS-R

yet I can't seem to figure out how to properly read my dip stick!
not even cold in the morning!
and forget turning it on and shutting it off... the oil then goes all the way to the middle of the WHOLE aluminum thingy of the dipstick...
and it doesn't go down until like... 4 hours later... if I'm lucky :D

sometimes it reads full, I drive it, it dips, I throw oil in it, (like 1/2 a quarter) and it goes super high... then I drive it, it goes down, then the other day I check it, it's up...
then I stick it again and it's fine, then low...

    I mean like... wtf... lol

I'm on the verge of making a hole of the side of the engine and mounting a 1" plexiglass plate (if it didn't melt...)

hehe you finally made a thread!

the oil should pretty much be checked when you put gas, i still have a hard time understanding this myself but i keep hearing this and was thought this. Make sure the car is on a leveled surface and run the engine for about 15 mintues or until at warm temp, then wait about 5 to 10 minutes, then check the oil, the oil should in between the two circle marks for normal level, i ususally have it at the top mark, if you keep adding to much bubbling will occur and cause the oil to break down and mess up it up altogether.

Cause the oil to break down..? The crankshaft may turn it into frothyness, but I don't think it's going to start breaking down..

which is why it causes it to break down, there are a lot of things that go into play when it starts bubbling, and believe it or not it causes improper lubrication, thats why its called oil degredation.

I know that oil bubbles when they collapse they make a ton of collateral dammage (I'll be back :p) like leaving behind a particle of crap in your oil and while a bubble, it doesn't work as it should (it makes oil behave like a insulator with the crap load of bubbles/air)

    dip stick sssuuuuxxxxx lol...
any aftermarket gadget to measure oil reliebly?
I'm gonna be putting oil on it blind, the 1zz-fe sounds a lot when the oil level is down by 1 quart.

so when I hear the booming come back I'll add enough oil to make it stop, then 1/3quart more... so... no booming, ok level, booming, need a quart, maybe 2 of oil, valve tapping, no oil rofl

not that i know of, just do what i told you and you should be good to go.Yeah it sucks when you runs basically on oil pressure is what the VVT-i sensor runs off of, its messed up but yeah, i also add RESTORE 4 its available from your local autozone and/or advance its cheap and work well if you use conventional oil, do not use if you use synthetic, otherwise damage will occur.

the best oil i have used are the two following but i highly recommend the first

    Amsoil Synthetics @ www.amsoil.com
    and
    Eneos Oil Co. @ www.eneos.us

for the first time this oil is imported from Japan and is now availble in the states, it works best for japanese engines, if you see a lot of the vehicles here you would know what i am talking about the oil here can put up with a lot of wear and tear, both are very good but you do pay a price, honestly IMO its worth it.

P.S. Saber ur added on my site.
