If you consider yourself a Final Fantasy player and have not played the first 3 including the unreleased Japanese 2 (released on Playstation in a title called Final Fantasy Anthologies,) I'm going to start swinging. :)

Final Fantasy XI is VERY similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, with the major exception being it's not turn-based.

Final Fantasy XI is also, HUGE. Everytime they do an update to the software (once a week, give or take) new quests are added.

Even though they made every final fantasy game for a player who doesnt have to know anything about any of the previous games in order to get into the current game...its easy to say that when you got into it a long time ago and have alotta time on ur hands...but I consider myself a big fan of the whole final fantasy saga...

FF7 is dirt cheap now-a-days. It's been out forever, but at this point, you might as well wait for the re-release version.

I never said you had to play them all to understand the story line. I made a statement based on my own personal opinion. I believe that people have a much higher respect for other games as far as sequels go when they have played the original.

If I had just jumped in and played 7, I would have thought it was an pretty good game. But because I started at 1, liked it enough to play it through and then play 2, only too be so impressed that I wanted to play the rest of them, it increased my feelings on the rest of them.
See where I'm coming from? :)

Edit: Whoops, thought it was 13 that just came out. :)

No, I don't have a link, I've heard enough that it's being re-released, I figured it was true, considering how well the game sold, it made sense to me.

yah... well i bet PS3 will get even more fans if they remake FFVII. i mean back in its time it was a hit. i'm positive that the people who didnt actually finish it would want another try. and the people who finished it would want to do it again in super HD.

I originally played Final Fantasy VII on the PC.

Haha, let me tell you, when I went out and bought a copy for the Playstation, boy was I disappointed. The graphics on the Playstation were total crap compared to the (at the time) roaring 64Mb card in the computer.

It's almost impossible to find now. Sure looked awesome on the PC. Looked about like FFXI does, maybe not quite that good.

Speaking of FFXI, if you play, VoRTeX and I will be on most of the day tomorrow. :D We've been working too hard for our own good, decided to take a day to fry our brain cells. We're on Garuda.

    hehe highly addictive.

if anyone here *does* decide to play FFXI - please let Deebs or myself know so we can buy you a world pass to get you onto our server. Otherwise you'll randomly be dropped onto one of the servers out there. It's a lot more fun when you can play with your friends or people you know on there.

I really wanna finish playing FF7....I barely got into playin it and that was years ago...I loved the little bit of it that I got to play...and everyone I talk to seems to say that FF7 was the best out of the whole series....

Hehe, its cool man, I getcha...I wasnt bein all serious or anything, lol....

I bought FFXI on release day....hooked up the HDD...watched the opening movie demo on the disc....and never played it since....never bought a subscription either...I still have it in the box and everything and I even tried to sell it to Gamestop and all those other places but they all keep tellin me that they wont take it cuz of the fact that it comes with the HDD and its a subscription service or something BS like that....as much as I want to play it, I just dont like the idea of paying a monthly service fee...

Didn't you get a free month with it? I got 30 days of free service when I picked upmine, and figured if I didn't like it, I was out the cost of the game ($19 at Best Buy)

Maybe they didn't offer that when it first came out.

Great game, just like tactics except real-time.

    Soon, I'll be an end-game level 75 Dragoon / Level 37 Warrior.
Wielding Gungnir and my Wyvern, "Kain." (Named aptly after the dragoon Kain from Final Fantasy 2.)

Haha, yeah, I've read enough stuff on Dynamis to gain the Relic weapons...sh!t dude...it's insane how long it takes.

And I hated every minute of getting my chocobo license which took 6 real life hours, of basically sitting around.
