88 is still big port right? I think it's not worth it unless it's 4AGZE or small port, and you still need to pay for labour.
Get a silver top with tranny is only around $1000 isn't it?

well, my 7afe is rated at 105hp, lol, so 20hp imo is alot, hah, and for a motor and 5 speed trans with only 42k on it for $400 would be a good deal, and a lil bit of an improvement

I'd imagine you'd need to get ECU and wiring harness along with it to drop it in.

yea, well, i can get the whole car for $700 if i wanted to, but the body is shitty, so i can strip anything i want off of it, or i can just get the whole car, take what i need and part out the rest

Oh, so you're doing the swap by yourself? Then $400 is all you need to pay for? That's good then. I say go for it.
btw, MR2's tranny is rear wheel drive layout, you need to mod it to fit the rolla.

i heard its not that bad. in fact its almost identical as far as i remember. compare the accessories to see if everything fits. but the 4age itself is exactly the same

you will also need to worry about wiring and any extras that don't come with the engine trans you would get with a front clip. definately not worth it and you may have to rebuild the engine or trans.

i dunno man cuz i would think that with that kinda money and work involved, you could find horsepower by other means...besides that, you'll probably have to deal with the problems of the post-swap woes...

find my cardomain page and read how i did my swap in the ae92.... my $400 smallport swap (using the stock trans/axles/clutch/pp/ecu/harness) ended up costing closer to $1200 (long ago)...

were i to do it again, i personally could probably do it for only a couple hundred more... but only because i can find everything i need very easily (and cheep) if not build what i need myself.....

that being said.... it'll bolt right up, except you'll need to swap the linkage for the trans to the opposite side of the selector shaft.
