full exhaust no. The only true catback I can think of is the JP exhaust system.. the borla, TRD, Vibrant, Magnaflow are just tailpipes.

I was quoted $75 for a 2.25" catback...$30 for a resonator, plus whatever muffler you want. I probably paid way too much ($140 muffler), but it sounds better than most 4cyl mufflers I've heard..or maybe it's because it's not a Honda.. :p

what's that supposed to mean? just because most hondas are quicker than corollas, you need to talk shit about them cause of the way they sound? last time i checked, a crapolla with a bolt-on muffler doesn't sound much different, and there's a couple of those around my neighborhood

Um, i've kept up pretty good with most base hondas. I ran a 01 si and got the jump on him with my torque before his vtec hit, then he started pulling, but it wasn't until almost the top of 3rd that he finally passed me.

Anyhoo, back to topic, if I were getting a custom exhaust made, i'd get some titanium piping and run a catless exhaust system.

good lookin out...i was also lookin at magnaflow...but i just think its alittle crazy paying alot of money for a only a muffler...you know? when you could just get a custom cat-back...for cheaper.

    bulletproof...keep us updated...thanks!

    (I got a 9thgen '04)

The magnaflow exhaust system sold at ptuning is the whole thing... well it bolts on right after the converter. See the second pic through this link http://images.magnaflow.com/07techtips/pdfs/15807.pdf

I wanted that kit but I thought it bolted on the 4-2-1 stock header. I want the ELP or JP header so this kit won't be an option for me... I might go custom 2.25 with at least a high flow cat OR resonator... otherwise I'll need earmuffs when driving! I dunno what muffler to buy... maybe HKS, magnaflow, Tenzo-R, TRD (with custom bolt on clamp) or DC sports. The last one is currently making a header and a full exhaust system for our 9thgen but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$...

I personally like the TRD exhaust cuz it bolts on and there's no need to cut the bumper, rear lip. On top of that the muffler is located right where the stock one is so no rubbing problems..... and a nice Feng chuey tip! ahaha!

yup it's pretty expansive... you get the whole kit though... If it were to bolt on the header I'd definetly buy it.

I'm in the market for a cat-back too. So far I like the trd exhaust and the magnaflow exhaust. Tell me what you guys end up deciding to do and I would like a sound byte too.

After a bit of talking to a guy who knows some shit about exhaust, here's my choice: Leave stock header (I need torque, not highs), custom 2.25 piping to high flow cat, custom 2.25 or 2.5 piping to muffler and probably HKS muffler or magnaflow. That'll be way enough for me and a lot cheaper than other bolt on exhaust system from magnaflow or DC sports.

    Why use two different diameters?

You, sir, cannot seem to comprehend the complicated art of the smiley. How are 'most Hondas' quicker than Corollas? Tell me a base model 4cyl Honda (ie no NSX's, no S2000s, no ITRs, etc) that is quicker than any Corolla. I'll pull a high 15 on a good day -- without nitrous...and I'm not too far from stock. For an economy-tuned four door sedan, I don't think that's too bad. A buddy of mine has a '97 Integra, and I doubt he can stick with my car..he's an auto, but still, he has a 142hp engine to begin with.

My car has been mistaken for a V6 by a V6 owner. Most Hondas I've heard sound like crap. I've heard some Corollas that didn't sound too hot either..

    Chill, alright?
