    1) it's not 1ZZ, its a 2ZZ get your engines right. :)
    2) it's possible, but however unlikely for you to do such a thing without some expert help and deep deep deeeeeeeeep pockets
    3) you can't do it with just the motor, good luck tryin if you do - we'll sit back and giggle

    in order to take upon such a project, you will need to take a look at the nightmare that is hellish mantis - if you can duplicate it *ON YOUR OWN* you will have my respect, until then... don't say ' im droppin this motor in ' and expect that to actually fly. do some research.

    in addtion to the motor expect to spend about 7k or more to make this work...

    x2. You wont get far with that motor alone. Look for clips or salvaged vehicles. The motor will fit as its in the hellish mantis which is one sick ass rolla. You will need tons and tons of help.

    reason I need new motor is because I ran into a 4 foot water flood, didnt mess up anything at all no water in interior, just had to hop out the window to push it out lol. I was pissed. my engine starts it just sounds like a car with about 2 billion peices of metal in the motor smackin the pistons =( it was raining so hard I couldnt see the puddle at 10 mph.... typical Virginia

    First and foremost find someone that will swap the engine for you. Then begin to look for a new motor. Try to find a 2zz from a salvaged car so you can get all the parts you need right off the car.

    Ok, just out of curiosity...why a 2? They are going to be alot harder to find than a 1. You'll be out WAAAAY more money to do a swap...just to gain a VVTL-i motor. If you want power, you would be so much smarter to boost a 1zz. Look at Vortex. He's got a 1, which off the top of my head stock only has about 35-40 horsepower less than the 2. ...running 14 pounds of boost he's somewhere over 260. ...for far less money than the time it would take for you to put a 2 into your car.

    Not trying to sound mean, but it's like my boss always says. Work smarter, not harder. And dropping a 2z into your car, is going to be a hell of a lot harder than boosting the 1z.

    that will still require you to do the following:

    a) change out your entire wiring harness
    b) change out your ECU
    c) change out your injectors

    you can pick up any non vvt-i motor... if you can spend up to 2000 this is what i'd suggest... rebuild the one you've got. :) if your block is blown to shit, then you've got a couple options:

    1) new short block from toyota is 1300+shipping (thats just the short block or bottom end)
    2) get a long block that is in good shape but needs rebuild, i've got one i'll sell ya for $450 shipped or you can pick one up in a junkyard hopefully (long block is head and block)

    if you get a block (from me or somewhere else, junkyard or whatever) these are your options:

    1) rebuild stock -> ~$800 for a master rebuild kit + whatever assembly charges are at a local machine shop... typically about $400-500 bucks

    2) rebuild built -> ~$???? (depends on what route you want to go) + $400-500 bucks assembly charges

    realistically, i'd pool as many resources as possible and see if you could just build up the bottom end of a motor, then you can work on the top end later.

    I gotta find out insurances funding. they are reinbursing me my money back after I get my engine fixed/rebuilt im not getting a new engine I found out today. I need the engine rebuilt. I would like to rebuild for performance, im not going to boost the car so im going for a n/a setup

    well i got two blown engines sittin' in my garage one is vvt-i and the is non-vvt-i and the third engine is stiing inside. i was gonna to put the 2 but yep they are right it is more expensive to install overall . the new 1zz it has right now is sweet with only 1020 miles on it. Japan here i come!hehe
