    oem cat converter

If I buy a cat back system 2 1/2" can I use my stock cat converter or have to use a new one. I know the 4-2-1 header does go into the stock one but I'm not sure about the 2 1/2" cat back.

If it bolts on, you may need an adapter -- if it's getting welded on, the shop shouldn't have any problems with it. My 2.25" catback is welded to the stock cat.

It should fit but if it were me I would replace it with a high flow cat while you are at it because more than likely your oem cat is rusted to shit. I got a high flow cat for sale by the way ;)

I doubt high flow cats are legal in any states. I don't see how you could have a problem with it though unless your state inspects cars regulary. I've never seen a cop willing to jack a car up, crawl on the ground, and look if you have a cat. That is assuming they even know what one looks like. I didn't notice much sound difference but there is a different smell of the exhaust.
