I Thought R34s were illegal on the road, period..

The car auction ebay link below shows an R34 skyline for sale. Believe it or not, in this particular link, the car isnt what interest me the most. Scroll down, look and read the picture copy of the letter from the DOT...does this mean its legal for the open road?? or just to own...

EDIT: Nevermind! I guess I got a little too excited and stopped reading before I posted, lol. So apparently they are illegal, lol.

    Emissions and right hand drive

The ones that are already in the US are legal....you just cant import any more. Same with the R32, and apparently the only R33s allowed are 96-98

r34's are legal if you want to pay for it. a company in so cal imported them for a little while and went through the whole process of making it street legal. it cost about 90-100k for one, but they were able to be registered and driven legally. it all came down to it passing emissions.
