Pioneer avic z1 vs the Eclipse avn5435 Nav.

    OK guy's

I need your Opinion I allready have the Toyota Nav system on my Tundra but Now looking to replacement on something else. I have decided on these Unit the Eclipse avn 5435 and the Pioneer's avic Z1 which are within the same price .Pioneer is $200 more but The pioneer does have bluetooth cell phone access and Voice to Text Nav (voice nav) and a 30 gb hard drive.

Anybody know anything about these units I am aware Eclipse makes My factory system found on my current system and has More features vs the Oem Toyota based system.

My uncle had an eclipse one on his Sienna. It was crap. It would tell you where you are but wouldnt let you punch in a destination. He called up eclipse and they said that he did something wrong himself. Bunch of b/s if you ask me. Id go with the Pioneer because you can buy the Pioneer ipod adapter and hook your ipod up to your car :)

I would def go with Pioneer over eclipse. As far as quality and reliability i have always chosen Pioneer and never been disappointed. Plus the bluetooth is an excellent feature, you are able to load your phone book right to the z1 and rip cd onto the HD.

Both are strong name brands and also OEM suppliers to Toyota. But I would have to go with the Pioneer over the Eclipse. For the difference in price, it is the better unit. The Eclipse AVN7000 would be a closer competitor to the Pioneer (newer model, 7" screen, 20GB HD in this unit). Eclipse might have a slight advantage in the audio portion of the system - but navigation, Pioneer is more user friendly.

what does the old one look like, and how much $ would you want to part with it? :D

as for the new one.. I vote pioneer, they've been making nav units for a while and I have a stereo from them that is a bazillion years old but still sounds good.
