Not on turbo. I was thinking around 2" too. The muffler has a 2.25" inlet so I guess I have to go for that. Now how long do you think the tip should be?

you dont have to go for 2.25. They should have a nipple of some kind that is 2 on one side and 2.25 on the other.

Ya I know but 2.25" isnt that bad of a size either or is it? Would it make it sound like crap?

I had 2.25" on mine -- had a Mitsu Eclipse guy ask if I had a V6..it's also the sound my uncle wants out of his Jetta. I was happy with it...2.25" catback, resonator and a Larsen (sp?) muffler.

Before I went turbo I got the AlphaWerks full catback which is 2.25 or 2.5 inch and I noticed a slight drop in power in the low end. However one wierd thing I noticed is that the engine would rev way faster? Has anyone else with a cat back noticed this behavior? When I put it in nutral and rail on the gas the needle jumps really crisp and before I did the exhaust it was kind of laggy.

I gotta say that I'm in love with my Magnaflow catback!! I love the sound and the little added boost. I got 2.25" on mine and I think its not too loud either. I have an 03 though so dont know if its going to be different...peace

The AlphaWerks catback exhaust is retarded loud :) I kind of wish I had of nabbed something a little quieter. I might just swap out the muffler or in this case "Amplifier" for something a litter nicer later on.

I just went out to my car with a ruler and put it up to my stock exhaust and ya I must admit that 4" is too small. The tip would barely reach out of the bumper. 7" should do it for me :) Now all that's left for me is to find a damn shop that can do pipe bending. I called up this one place I found in the yellow pages that had a big ad that said custom pipe bending up to 3" diameter. I called and he said he can't do it because there isn't anything for me car? The guy barely spoke english so I don't know what he was jabbering about.

I have the Alphawerks on my car at the moment with a Magnaflow, and yes, retarded loud is how I would describe it as well.
