    Sell/Trade advice

My friend can't afford his car basically, its a 2001 IS300, blue, loaded great condition with 69k on it. He travels 70-90 miles a day and just can't afford it with the gas and the payments and so on, he needs a commuter car...this is where my car comes in...

He said he's willing to do this, take my car and i just pay the rest of the 9k in loans he has for the car.
    My car:
58k, in good condition, no accidents, new tires, new spark plugs, every fluid changed within the last 10k and only mods that stay are the strut bar and the suspension and tint.

Do you all think its a good deal?

well if your car is lets say worth 4 grand plus the 9 grand youd have to pay, youd be getting an is300 for 13,000. kbb rates it at about 14-15 grand. so its not that bad of a deal i guess..

uhh yeah.. your basically getting an is300 for 9grand and its like your trading your car in, as long as the kbb says more than 9K on the is, and your car doesent make up the diffrence like for instance 9k for the is and lets say 3k for your car is 12k if the IS is only worth 11 than its a good deal but not as good of a deal as if the IS were worh 15. also depends on how much your payments are a month... and also make apsolute sure that you pay EVERY month so as to not screw up his credit.

    basically what he^^ said

ya probably gets transfered onto my name, he pays 239 a month right now, i can refinance that and put another 1 or 2k down so the payments are even less....
i thought my car is worth like 6k or around that

if my car is worth like 6k or so i thought it was, then i'd be gettin that IS for 15ish which is 1k less then i found on autotrader......

and also i looked at my car and it goes for around the same with my mileage on it

Yeah I think its more expensive. Hell we bought my 98 Corolla with 97 thosand miles on it. For about 6 or 7k.

I think it was 6 but we had to buy plates and all that other stuff.

That sounds like a fantastic deal. You would not have to find a buyer for you car before purchasing the IS so that takes a lot of hassle out of it. I personally would go for it if the IS is in good condition overall.

just go for it because if you tried to trade your car in at a dealer and buy that same car youd pay alot more for it. and you know were the car is from now and if it was beat on. you dont at the dealer..

update, i was mistaken on the mileage, it is 83k, he's letting it go for 13k, so after i give my car to him i will have 7k left on the payments.... and i drove it... ugh man wat a diff between a rolla and that car.......wow........

edit: o ya, he told me to try to sell it for 6,500 cause he wants a civic 5 speed, so we will see how that goes, if i'm selling it, i will have the strut bar for sale and the muffler and maybe couple other things

IS300 is sweet. I test drove like 5 of them back when I was trying to get out from under the Corolla but then I decided to Turbo the Corolla, Blow the motor and then have another motor installed. I think I made the right choice ;)

So why the need to drive 5 of them? Think the red one would be faster than the black one?

that car is fast by itself stock, and the handling is insane.... THe one i one drove had 83k on and had stock original suspension. When you press down on the car it moves as much as my car but my suspension is less then a year old and has like 5k on it..... It handles like crazy... Can't wait to get one and put a intake on it and couple suspension mods.

Probably gonna be strut bar, sway bars and just new OEM struts and springs, intake, groundfusion grounding kit, optima yelllow top and probably gonna transfer most of system over
