    Drop?

I want to drop my car but heres the problem.. I plan on investing on a body kit but I don't want to be scraping that up. I do have an angled driveway and I'm scared that when i drop it and get my kit, its just going to tear it up. Also in the winters I want it to be a decent height cause they can be quite the sh!t here.

So I want the drop to look nice but not to low. So what do you think a good drop should be, and what should I be looking at? Coilovers?

just get a reputable set of coilovers and all your problems are solved.

    K, my mistake.

Will someone help me find a reputable set of coilovers? Possibly ones, anyone is currently using and like?

If you are going to get sleeve type coilovers go with ground control and customize the spring rates to what you are looking for (default is 300lbs/in all around). It sounds like youre not planning on tuning your car for competition use so you should go with a less agressive spring rate so you can maximize ride comfort and use cheaper non adjustable replacement struts like KYB GR2 or Tokico HP, maybe eve stick with teh stock absobers units tho i wouldnt recommend it.

also take in consideration of what size rim you're going to be on. one guy here had a bomex kit on 17" rims and his ride was pretty slammed on tokico shocks w/ tein H-tech. but yeah, i'd go with ground control cause they're high quality stuff.

Well, I was thinking about going with some 16 inch rotas, and the 98-00 bomex kit.

Basically what I plan on using my car for is to race, but not anything like extreme just draging on some side roads at night, with so fast cars around my town. And I want to shut people up, because everyone thinks of a corolla and they just laugh.

Least everyone around here does. I want to do something thats not done that much. Well I mean we all do it, but its not like you see to many corollas being suped up.

If you're so poor that can't afford coilover, just go by any lowering spring (S-Tech, TRD, blah blah blah), and then use the spring spacer in winter to rise the ride height. This sounds stupid but it works. :p

Well the only reason I'm so poor, is becasuse my work just stopped giving me hours. So in the next week I should be getting a job, and once summer break starts the cash flow will start going up.

I know, I'm looking for a turbo setup like vortex has.

Are you just using your stock sturts with the springs, vortex?

dunno yet... now that i've completed 3 yrs of r&d on the thing, i think its safe to put together the final configuration and see how its going to do. :) i'll let ya know.

more than likely i'll share info with tweak and such so he can produce a kit, as i have no real intent on making a full scale distribution of this thing, too much work involved. however, i will be making a few off of my final design for friends and whoever pays me to make em one while im creating the finals for my car.

    we'll go get you a $200 89 honda civic. :)
