Another member soon to leave the corolla community!

Well it has been a long and great journey with the corolla and the crew, but I've had enough. My car is disappointing me because when working on changine the new main and rod bearings I found a tiny crack on the bottom of the motor near the oilpan. Also the crankshaft has a little worn area because of the bad bearings. I'm tired of trying to make this car running well each time and all I wanted to do was mod it. For 5 months all I've done is fix it and not mod it. I've had enough and after these findings the car is not fit anymore for my ultimate goal so sadly once the car is looking good and running well again, its gonna have a for sale sign on it. I've already started looking for new cars already and if other members can move on I guess I can too. I'm pretty sure I've done alot of custom work others would like to know how to do with the 7thgen corolla so I might just drop in here and there to see whats up. It's been great guys, but I think I have to move from the corolla to other better cars stronger cars.

best of luck.. don't be a stranger.

Cars always get more difficult to keep running as they age, and toyotas are no exception! :(

I think you have the right mentality for a couple reasons. Why continue to invest in a car like that when you can get something newer with better power and more features... Also, the Corolla isn't really a car that one can easily go all-out on with mods. Its a gateway car of sorts that can get a person started (most of the cars are high school first-car types). If I could go back, I would not have bought the XRS. Not to say I'm not glad I did. I would have been able to buy an Evolution.

One thing I will say about Corollas though is.. Looks wise, when done right, they look killer! Also, most have decent handling abilities.

Good luck with whatever you end up with!

well put man. I've spent so much money into the car and was getting pissed off that other less modded cars would still keep up and beat me. I've even thought of 4age swaps and stuff and realized with what ever engine I put in, its still twice as hard to work with compared to an acura, honda, or nissan. The corolla was a very nice car for a starter, but my tuning needs right now can't work with the corolla anymore. I would keep it if only intake manifolds, full turbo kit, pulleys, and so on was so easy to get access of, but its not. But before I leave I'll post some pics of the corolla at its finaly glory when I get it back and fixed.

Good luck with whatever else you get man, it is pointless to spend on something that just won't work out

Its all true man... Not only that, but you've had a good amount of time with that car. Why not go ahead and give something else a try while you have a good chance?

Though, it will be unfortunate to see you leave the Corolla community if you do.
