    Race Seats

I was looking into getting some Race Seats for my 02 Corolla but I don't think the Universal Race seats will fit the stock Brackets, Is there some Brackets that I can buy? Any help would be appreciated.

somebody I know with an 02 took their stock mounting hardware and had it welded to the racing seat for a few $. that way you avoid the hardware issues mostly.

I have seen custom mount kits before but it's like $60 a seat and they only fit certain models

i took my stock brackets cut the sliders off with a huge saw and made my own brackets out of some scrap metal at a friends shop. Worked out great took about 3 hrs to customer do the first seat since there was lots of planning involved and idea 1-5 didnt work so we finally came to idea 6. I wouldnt recomment welding unless your hella skinny because as you sit and stop and get up and ect the welds will start to break a friend of mine welded in his 93 civic seats and the welds starting to break after 1.5 years so if your in it for the long haul i'd say bolts and nuts all the way.

Know one thing though, your stock seats are about 23' wide (just trying to remember from when i did my measurements when i customer made my brackets, might be a few inches +/-) and my Bride type R style seats were only 19 inches which is a pretty big difference when your talking like 20% off the origional seat, so welding would be really hard and so will fabricating your own.

good luck though, mine worked out great. so i know it can be done.

yes slo, they're wedge engineering brackets origionaaly made to fit corbeaus. $80 a piece brand new, wh000.

Kevin, the brackets I got from memoryfab are superlow position for sidemount bucket seats. They're special order for AE101/111 Corollas.
