that's great. i can drive to willow springs, take 10 laps, and sit 4.5 hours for it to charge before i can go home.

yeah, pretty pointless.. but electric car people are willing to deal with that sort of thing.

I remember the toyota rav4 ev was like $50,000.. I thought that was a great technology demo, just the price never came down. If something like the rav4ev was the same price as hybrids I bet they would have sold quite a few.

rav4ev had like 160 miles range a charge, which wasn't half bad actually

100 miles would get me back and forth from college on my favorite backroads twice, I'd buy it.

The GM EV project is dead for a reason.. let's just let the EV fiasco be.

My school still has an EV1. It sits in the parking deck and collects dust... it's a big target for people writing stuff like "wash me" and the occasional "electric cars suck ass."

On another note, a 100 mile range is way too short. When the range gets up to around 400 miles or so, and charging time takes an hour, then electric cars would be a viable option.

if you got the money for a track car, you got the money for a trailer. 100k is high for a track day only car (even with stuff that will make it legal to drive on the road, most wouldn't risk it) though. The real question is how much does the added power (or actually would it be torque, since thats what electric motors produce vasts amounts of?) impair the handling characteristics.

It couldn't be worse than driving a Viper.
