it's official! i'm leaving the Toyota family...

in favor of a Subaru. this shouldn't come as much of a surprise to the general public...but i just got a loan approved for a 1999 Impreza 2.5RS.

she's blue, a coupe, a manual, and already completely modified the way i'd want it.

And you're still in the Toyota family... Toyota bought shares of Subaru a few months bak... 8.4% if my memory serves me right...

You can swap the WRX engine into those pretty easily.

no, that's the stock RS hood. it has a full suspension swap, tint, headers, exhaust, sound, alarm. basically everything i would do and then some.

thank you. i'm pleased as punch with it.

...and MAYBE i'll go back to my motor swapping ways in a couple of years. for now, i'm just going to enjoy it.

my roots are too far in Toyota to completely leave. i'm just now getting rid of my 4th...and knowing me, there will be an old corolla in my future as a beater.

Pretty sure I saw some guy, late to work and his looked stock and that thing can just take off. I'd like to see what that could do.

the STi badge refers to the fact that this is almost identical to the MY99 STi in Japan. we didn't get the STi over here that year.

my buddy drove it on Friday after he inspected it for me - he goes by Hazer00 on here. he is a big fan of FI, and was very impressed by the capability of the car. for a car lacking a snail, it's quick, and it sticks to corners like it's glued there.

i still have to get better with driving standard before i can really enjoy it.
