    Where's the Dr Tweak?

Well probably some of you are wondering where I've been, so here's an update. Basically, as I announced I was going to a while back, I moved down to Savannah, GA to join a shop called Truboost Performance. For a little while before I moved down (but after my house was under contract and I had left my job and so on), the owner of this shop, "Derek", had been acting unreliable and hard to get a hold of. Since everything was in motion already I decided to go for it anyway, but I had a backup job in place.

So, I moved down here, and for the entire time that I've been here I haven't been able to get a hold of Derek. For more than a week. I did some more searching around and talking with people and heard lots of bad things which I need not get into detail about. Bottom line is, this guy is bad news and I'm not getting involved with him. Moving on...

The backup job I had in place unfortunetely didn't pan out either, but there's plenty of other work around here. After passing my name out here and there and turning down several offers, it looks like I'm going to be hooking up with a successful company called Southern Car Customs. I'll keep everyone updated as things move forward.

Oh yeah, and I have not gotten internet access at my house yet, so I'm only online when I can go find a hotspot, which is why I haven't been on much. Once things get settled down then hopefully I can get on more. Well, that's about it!

that really sucks but I sure hope things get settled for you! I'm sure people in the area on the forum could also assist you finding jobs, housing, whatever

edit: so this means 'truboost' isn't the quality company we once thought of... be warned everybody!

i wouldnt quite jump to conclusions just because the guy is hard to get ahold of. could just be poor management skills doesnt say anything about how they tune cars.

but yea it stinks about what happened. good luck with the other shop though and i hope everything pans out of because i know it can be tough going without a job for a while, while in transit.

Well..when someone sells his house and moves 1000 miles to work for a company, you'd think that the guy should be around, no? I'm not going to recommend Truboost to anyone now..

I'm 90%+ positive that the Doc has been down there & has met/talked with the guy. Dunno on the contract, though.

Hey everyone, thanks for the support. I finally got internet access set up at the house, so I'll hopefully be on more.

Truboost is totally gone as a company now, after the owner finally got in touch with me I told him I was all done with him. I found out that he's selling everything and shutting down.

I've gotten a few good offers from companies in the area, and as of June 1st I will be joining Southern Car Customs. These guys are a provider of aftermarket parts, and install suspensions and that kind of thing. Together we'll add engine swaps and performance work to the list.

In the meantime I've been working out of the house, doing swaps, harnesses, and other stuff, things are going fine. There really wasn't anything left in VT for us anymore and we felt the need for a change, so I have no regrets about moving down.
